Private Conversations
By default, conversations with a shared agent are visible to everyone on your team who can use that agent. Sometimes you don’t want that — a draft performance review, a salary analysis, a half-formed idea. Mark the conversation private and it’s yours.
Make a conversation private
Section titled “Make a conversation private”- In the workspace sidebar, hover the conversation and open its ⋯ menu
- Choose Make private
A lock icon appears next to the conversation. Choose Make shared from the same menu to open it back up.
Only the conversation’s creator (or an org owner/admin) can change its visibility.
What private means
Section titled “What private means”A private conversation is hidden from other members everywhere:
- It doesn’t appear in their conversation list
- Live updates about it never reach their workspace
- It sends notifications only to you
Org owners and admins retain access — private hides a thread from teammates, it doesn’t put it outside your organization’s governance.
What it doesn’t change
Section titled “What it doesn’t change”- The agent is unchanged. It keeps its integrations, knowledge, and workspace files — files an agent writes in its computer are part of the agent, not the conversation.
- Customer and guest conversations have their own visibility rules and aren’t affected by this toggle.
- Existing conversations stay shared until you explicitly make them private.
